Bio: ABOUT US: Welcome to SEMA, the most energetic and most vibrant public speaking and leadership club in Kenya. SEMA is part of the wider Toastmaster movement in Kenya that comprises four clubs. We are the youngest of the four, having been chartered in 2008. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month for lively sessions to deliver speeches, network and generally have a good time. In addition to the speeches, club members take up various leadership roles that improve leadership qualities such as listening, giving feedback, critical thinking among others. ABOUT TOASTMASTERS: Toastmasters International (TI) is a non-profit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking. The organization grew out of a single club, Smedley Club Number 1, which would become the first Toastmasters club. It was founded by Ralph C. Smedley on October 22, 1924, at the YMCA in Santa Ana, California, United States.
